ANP Submits Proposals for 26th Constitutional Amendment

PESHAWAR, October 16, 2024: Awami National Party (ANP) Central Spokesperson Engineer Ehsan Ullah Khan has revealed the party’s proposals for the 26th Constitutional Amendment, emphasizing province identification, autonomy, and resource control.
In an exclusive interview, Khan stated that ANP President Ameer Haider Khan Hoti presented the proposals, highlighting the party’s sensitivity towards provincial identity and authority.
Key proposals include:- Renaming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to “Pakhtunkhwa”
Equal representation for all provinces on federal oil and gas company boards
Amendments to the Net Hydel Power clause in the Constitution
Adopting the AGN Qazi Formula for Net Hydel Power profit distribution
Khan emphasized ANP’s commitment to provincial rights and resources, citing its parliamentary history since the 1973 Constitution and 18th Amendment.
The proposals aim to strengthen provincial autonomy and ensure fair distribution of resources.
