All dams of Quetta intact; no threat to their structure, Irrigation Dept.

QUETTA: All dams located in and around Quetta are totally safe and as such there’s no threat to their structures following the spell of heavy rains hit the city couple of days before.
According to the sources Irrigation Department, around 10,000 acre feet water has been stored in all dams located around the Quetta city and adjoining areas.
The sources of Irrigation Department, there is a capacity of storing 55 acres feet water in Karkhasa dam located near western bypass area.
At present, 20 feet acres water is stored in Karkhasa dam, the sources of Irrigation Department informed.
Similarly, there is capacity of storing 380 acre feet water in Wali Tangi dam, which has been filled.
Besides, Spin Karez dam has the capacity of storing 2500 acre feet water. However, 1200 acre feet water has been stored in the Spin Karez dam.
The Saraghurgai dam has the capacity of storing 450 acre feet water where 250 acre feet has been stored, the sources of Irrigation Department informed.
