AIOU takes steps to bring out-of-school children in educational network

ISLAMABAD,  : Vice Chancellor, of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood Thursday said that the university has started a campaign to bring out-of-school children into the education net through expanding its educational network in the remote and relatively low literacy areas of the country.

 

The VC announced that the regional offices and model study centers of AIOU will be established in every part of the country that lacks the basic facilities necessary for education.

 

The VC AIOU was presiding over the Regional Directors meeting at the Faisalabad Regional Campus, said a news release.

 

Regional directors of Sahiwal, Sargodha, Jhang, Kasur, and Gujranwala participated in the meeting. Regional Director, Faisalabad, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Samim hosted the meeting.

 

The Vice-Chancellor directed the regional heads to identify areas where AIOU can provide educational facilities.

 

Dr. Nasir said that our goal is to increase the facilities as much as possible.

 

Dr. Malik Tauqir Ahmed Khan briefed the Vice Chancellor about the Regional Offices and model study centers of AIOU in Punjab.

 

All the regional heads assured the Vice Chancellor to pay special attention to student facilitation.

 

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Samim gave a detailed briefing to the Vice Chancellor on the services of his region.
