PESHAWAR- Sensational revelations have emerged about Jalal Khan Afghan, the Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) elected from Pakistan Muslim League (N) KPK 79. Allegations suggest that he has been involved in human trafficking in several foreign countries, with the assistance of a senior police officer from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The said police officer, who was previously the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Peshawar, reportedly allowed smuggled goods into the market, leading to his expulsion from the province. Reports indicate that when the Islamabad Police arrested the individuals involved in human trafficking, they were taken to Polyclinic Hospital and released in a dramatic manner, allegedly facilitated by the aforementioned police officer and his special team. This incident led to a conflict between the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad and IG of Punjab, highlighting the former’s considerable influence in the government of Imran Khan. Police sources reveal that during the officer’s tenure in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), he collaborated with Jalal Khan to send numerous Afghans abroad by providing them with Pakistani ID cards and passports, resulting in substantial financial gains. Despite subsequent actions by intelligence agencies, the officer reportedly evaded consequences due to the protection of a high-ranking brother with ties to the People’s Party. Additionally, it is noted that one of the officer’s relatives previously served as the Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, suggesting financial motivations behind these illicit activities. The manner in which an Afghan national secured an assembly seat and took oath in the Pakhtunkhwa assembly remains a perplexing narrative in itself.
