Afghan children grown & born in Pakistan to further strengthen sustainable friendship & relations between two brotherly countries

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that the refugees are playing effective role in development and construction all over the world. However, he called upon the international institutions and donor agencies to come forward and play their effective role for development and prosperity of the communities which are hosting the refugees in their areas so as to reduce their burden.
The Governor was speaking at the function organized to mark the world refugees day at the BUITEMS on Thursday.
The prominent among those present in the event were included the Head of UNHCR sub-office, Tesfaye Beklele, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS , Dr. Khalid Hafeez, and Chief Commissioner Afghan Refugees, Arbab Talib Kasi besides others.
Addressing the participants, Governor said that the Afghan refugees are present in the province for last four decades. We have accepted them as guest. We have religious, social and other strong relations in the province, he said adding that we thank all those international organizations who reduced our pressure in education, health and other sectors for Afghan refugees.
He mentioned that UNHCR and SAFRON provided us the modern medical equipment, ambulances and other items for the hospitals.
While on the other hand, solar energy was provided while ensured the constructions and availability of the furnitures in the educational institutions.
Through these initiatives, not only the refugees but the local communities were also benefitted, he added.
The Governor on the occasion hailed establishment of refugee center in the premises of University of Balochistan by UNHCR.
While thanking the international organizations, Governor expressed the hope that the Afghan children born in Pakistan would strengthen further the sustainable friendship and relations between the two brotherly countries.
