ACTIONS TAKEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHIEF MINISTER PUNJAB MOHSIN NAQVI’S DIRECTIVES REGARDING SMOG

Lahore,  : Provincial Secretary Transport Ahmed Javaid Qazi, in a meeting on implemented measures against smog, stated that the Punjab Transport Department officials have imposed restrictions on the use of vehicles emitting pollution (smoke-emitting) and non-standard fuels throughout the province under the Punjab Environment Protection (Control and Prevention) Smog Rules 2023. Secretary Transport mentioned that enforcement actions were taken against numerous vehicles in Punjab. According to details, 1,829 vehicles were checked across Punjab, out of which 75 were impounded, fines were issued for 301 violations, and penalties totaling 2,751,000 rupees were imposed. Vehicle checks are being conducted on a daily basis.
