Peshawar. September 29, 24 – Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has extended warm congratulations to Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on his unopposed election as President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).Khaqan Abbasi said in Peshawar addressing a press conference.
Abbasi praised Fazal-ur-Rehman’s exceptional leadership and vision, noting that his unanimous election is a testament to his commitment to democratic values and principles. He highlighted JUI’s vital role in promoting peace, tolerance, and social justice under Fazal-ur-Rehman’s guidance.
“Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is a seasoned and sagacious political leader who has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to democratic values and principles,” Abbasi stated.
Abbasi also commended Fazal-ur-Rehman’s efforts in fostering national unity, interfaith harmony, and parliamentary democracy, expressing confidence that his statesmanship and wisdom will continue to inspire JUI.
“I wish Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and JUI all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to their continued contributions to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.”
Fazal-ur-Rehman has been a prominent figure in Pakistani politics, serving as the leader of the opposition from 2004 to 2007 and currently leading the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) ¹.
