A special event was held at the Police Dogs Breeding and Training Center School, Bedian

A special ceremony was organized for the adoption of 06 retired sniffer dogs of Punjab Police in Police Dogs Breeding and Training School Bedian. Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Azhar Akram, SSP Syed Nadeem Abbas, SSP Admin Headquarters Kamran Nawaz and Zofshan Anusha, CEO of Private Organization JFK were present in the ceremony. In the special ceremony, the retired sniffer dogs were awarded with medals and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding services. Retired sniffer dogs were handed over to their new owners under the MOU of Punjab Police and Animal Rights Organization. Citizen Abubakar got Bazo, Ahmad Masood got Martin, Miss Samia got Silly, Miss Maryam got Hitler while Mr. Al-Habib adopted a dog named Cruiser, similarly, ASP Shaherbano also adopted a dog named Tyson.
On this occasion, the citizens who adopted the dogs said that they should ensure full care and protection of dogs. According to Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hameed, the purpose of adopting dogs to citizens is to provide lifelong shelter and a good life to the retired sniffer dogs. Additional IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said that these sniffer dogs have spent their whole life in protecting lives and properties of citizens and performed very important duties. On this occasion, the head of the private NGO, Zofishan Anushay, said that steps are being taken for a better future after the retirement of the sniffer dogs under the MOU with the Punjab Police. Previously these dogs were killed with an injection after their retirement, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar issued orders to start an adoption plan of retired dogs and ended this tradition. Chief Supervisor Special Branch Dr. Muhammad Usman Asghar, Supervisor Dog Center Altaf Hussain, Handlers and trainers of service dogs were also present on the spot.
