A high-level meeting was held on July 4, 2024, under the chairmanship of IG Police Balochistan, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh to discuss security arrangements for Muharram ul Haram. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Quetta Division, Hamza Shafqat, Shia Conference officials, Sunni scholars, traders, and other senior police officials.

The meeting decided to implement a comprehensive security plan to maintain peace and security across the province during Muharram. The plan includes enhanced checking and security measures on entry and exit points of cities, deployment of district police, FC, and other security forces at sensitive locations, and close monitoring of processions and majalis.

The IG Police Balochistan emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security during Muharram and urged everyone to work together to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.
