(r) Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. Mir Shabbar Ali, Dean Faculty of Computing and Applied Science Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif, Director AORIC, Prof. Dr. Rabia Noor Enam, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Dr. Muhammad Rehan, Director Finance Munaf Advani and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Jawaid Anwar said that Pakistan Women Foundation for Peace is an active organization that is working for women empowerment. Women should be recognized as a significant part of the society. He underscored that Sir Syed University is an ideological university based on the thoughts of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. This university has been established in pursuit of the Aligarh Muslim University model, whose first chancellor was a woman, Her Highness Begum of Bhopal Sultan Jahan Begum, who played a key role in the development and success of Aligarh University.
Drawing attention to an important issue related to women, Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said that the majority of girls sit at home after becoming doctors, engineers, and other professionals. After marriage, their in-laws discourage them from practicing their educational skills, which is a tragedy in our society. It is a big loss for our society and nation. In the present era, girls can work from home at their convenience and ease. Efforts should be made to eliminate this trend from society.
