Kolab Jial: (R) A condolence meeting was organized by the Sindhi Adbi Sangat Kolab Jial in the memory of famous Sindhi columnist, storyteller, poet and writer Mazhar Abro (deceased) at Ghani Public Elementary School. Professor Imtiaz Ali Mahesar, young writer Vishal Ameer, social leader Azhar Ali Abro and MazharAbro’s brother Naeem Akhtar Abro was the special guest, who shed light on the life of late Mazhar Abro. Speaking on this occasion, writer Vishal Amir said that Ada Mazhar taught me to walk by holding my finger as a child and he was and will be my guide in literature. He gave me literary knowledge, taught me the art of editing due to which I went on to become a successful editor of Nain Zindagi magazine. Ada Mazhar was an academic and literary institute from which many students like us came out with knowledge.
Professor Imtiaz Ali Mahesar said that with the death of Mazhar Abro, a void has been created in us which will not be filled for centuries. I always discussed every literary research matter with him, he always guided me.
On this occasion, Gulshan Ali Abro, principal of Ghani Public School, Kolab Jial, said that there are some personalities who remain immortal in history. He said that Mazhar Abro was a great name of Sindhi literature who founded the Sindhi Adbi Sangat in Kolab Jial in 1993, now we are establishing Mazhar Abro Memorial Forum in his name, from this forum students can be taught apart from literature. Guidance will be given to gain mastery in religious knowledge.
Poet Aajiz Ghulam Rasool Abro said that Mazhar Abro’s literary services are like the bright sun.
Azhar Hussain Abro said that I am interested in knowledge and literature, as the chairman of the Union Council Kolab Jial, I am with you all.
In the end, Hafiz Hidayatullah offered a collective prayer for the forgiveness of late Mazhar Abro.
On this occasion, the secretary of Sindhi Adabi Sangat branch Kolab Jial Shiraz Aslam Abro, Ustad Naveed, Sufi Abdul Hameed Abro, Anwar Sanwal Abro, Dr. Anwar Pardesi, journalist Asghar Abro, Salim Akhtar Abro and other workers of the Sangat Branch Kolab Jial were also present.
Before that, Mazhar Abro’s brothers and friends went to the graveyard and prayed for his forgiveness and offered flowers on the grave.
