A comprehensive training program on “Introduction to Blockchain, information, Cyber Security and extracting data from Deep Web” was conducted for officers of the National Accountability Bureau (Balochistan) on 31st July 2024 at NAB (Balochistan). The training aimed to enhance the capacities of NAB officers in investigating and prosecuting digital money transactions and frauds.
Mr. Haider Ali Deputy Director Forensic Lab FIA Cyber Crime Wing Balochistan Zone Quetta was the resource person, he delivered a lecture to the participating officers. The training aimed to equip participants with a solid understanding of blockchain technology, its applications, and its role in ensuring cyber security. The instructor explored the complexities of blockchain, going into its application cases, consensus processes, and architecture. Additionally, the training covered essential concepts of information cyber security, including threat analysis, risk management, and incident response.
Director General NAB Mr. Izhar Ahmed Awan also gave his appearance and emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and information sharing to overcome the curse of corruption. He said that in today’s digital age, where financial transactions are increasingly conducted online and through various digital mediums, it is crucial for corruption eradicating agencies like NAB and FIA to stay abreast of evolving technologies and emerging cyber threats. By recognizing the significance of digital literacy and the need to enhance expertise in combating corruption through digital means, the DG NAB (B) demonstrated a proactive approach towards addressing modern-day challenges in financial crime investigation. In light of the growing prevalence of digital frauds and cybercrimes, it is imperative for NAB officers to continuously update their knowledge and skills, particularly in areas related to digital forensics, cybersecurity, and anti-corruption measures in the digital realm.
Participants learned about various tools and techniques used to access and analyze deep web data, including onion networks and dark web forums. Through interactive sessions and real-world examples, participants gained practical knowledge and skills to enhance their cyber security capabilities and effectively extracting data from the deep web. The training concluded with a Q&A session, where participants clarified their doubts and received guidance from the expert trainers.
