_DRUG EPIDEMIC HITS PAKISTAN: ANF SEIZES 188 KG OF NARCOTICS, ARRESTS 6 SUSPECTS IN DESPERATE BID TO STEM TIDE_
Islamabad,(independent Report. ) August 8: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown on drug smuggling, recovering 188 kilograms of narcotics and arresting six suspects in six separate operations.
The operations were carried out in Multan, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Lahore, resulting in the seizure of:
– 800 grams of ice at Multan Airport from a passenger traveling to Jeddah
– 52.8 kilograms of opium and 61.2 kilograms of hashish from a car near Northern Bypass, Peshawar, with two suspects arrested
– 48 kilograms of hashish from a parcel being sent to Karachi from a courier office in Peshawar
– 18 kilograms of hashish from a suspect near Chenab Toll Plaza, Gujrat
– 4.8 kilograms of hashish from a suspect in Bahria Phase 4, Islamabad
– 2.4 kilograms of hashish from a suspect in Badami Bagh, Lahore
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.
