Federal caretaker government decided to abolish the current system of electricity sale, distribution and tariff of Disco’s.

ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government has ordered to transfer electricity distribution companies in the ownership of the provinces.In the decision, it has been decided to transfer the responsibility of electricity rate and subsidy to the provinces.It has been decided to give ownership of Hyderabad and Sukkur electric supply companies to government of Sindh , ownership of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan Electric Supply companies to Punjab and Islamabad Electric Supply Company will be jointly owned by Punjab and Federation, while Peshawar and Tribal Area electric supply companies has been decided to give in ownership of the government of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa.
