QUETTA: The effective system of surveillance has been enforced from the spillway of Hub dam to Band Murad Sakran Hub city under the disaster management plan.
This is in line with the standing directives already issued by the Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili.
With this, the discharge of additional water has also been started from the spillway of Hub dam after overflowing of the maximum level (339 feet) of water from the dam.
According to the Deputy Commissioner Hub, Zahid Khan Khilji, the reservoir of water in Hub dam is 6,87,000 acres of feet in the Hub dam.
The reservoir of water is enough to meet the requirement of water of Karachi and Hub, Sakran for next three years.
However, there can be flood situation in Hub river if there would be more rain in the catchment area.
