QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan under leadership of Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has taken series of initiatives with the aim to getting better the quality of life of people and moving on to end the longstanding backwardness from the province.
The Chief Minister has given the impression from his every act that the provincial government has come into being because of the power of public, and that he is answerable to them for his every action and deed.
This was mentioned in an official hand out issued here on Wednesday night.
According to the hand out, list of the important initiatives taken in the public interest by the provincial government under leadership of Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo is quite long.
The Chief Minister has always given the impression of public Chief Minister from his actions, and his positive gesture is also being acclaimed. Not only this, the steps being taken by the Chief Minister are also getting much appreciation.
In the official hand out, certain important initiatives taken by provincial government under leadership of Chief Minister Bizenjo have been referred.
These are included: release of grant in aid of Rs. 2.5 billion for universities of the province, conducting of free and fair local government elections, timely relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees of the province, digital population and housing census in peaceful manner, holding of National Games after 19 years and PSL’s exhibitory match for the first time, residential colony for journalists and establishment of Hawkers Welfare Fund, residential colony for fishermen, giving status of labour to the fishermen, status of special district to Gwadar, practical steps for payment of arrears against PPL, payment of Rs. 2.5 billion to the province from Saindak Metal Limited, setting up of Endowment Fund for youth skill development, grant-in-aid for the bar councils and bar associations, establishment of border trade, making permanent to the internee teachers, nomination of the vice chancellors of the public sector universities on recommendation of search committee under the administration of provincial Higher Education department, appointment of government teachers in their respective districts, operationalization of the non-effective schools, inauguration of border market at Pak-Iran border, completion of the 100 megawatt power supply project from Iran to Gwadar, provision of one month food to one lakh deserving families during month of Ramadanul Mubarak, steps taken for wheat supply removing its shortage, establishment of Traffic Engineering Bureau, permanence of 37 employees of Gwadar Industrial Development Authority, restoration of the deceased employees quota in jobs, digitalization of land revenue record, setting up of E-service center to facilitate general public, establishment of Shahid Afridi Cricket Academy and anti-riot women wing in Balochistan police.
In addition to this, certain important initiatives have been taken for bringing improvement in education and health sectors in the province, stated in the official hand.
