Subject: Demand of Bhalwal district
The city known as California of Pakistan is suffering from administrative injustice and has not yet become a district. Out of all 144 tehsils in Punjab, Bhalwal is the largest revenue-generating tehsil due to production of citrus, textile, sugar, dairy items and other commodities for both domestic and international markets. Despite fulfilling of all requirements to become district, Bhalwal is unable to get its administrative right because of political victimization.
The people of one of the most densely populated tehsils of Punjab have to access Sargodha for their official work. However, the long distance between Bhalwal and Sargodha has become even worse due to poor road conditions and threat of accidents. Despite having all rights to make the city a district, the inhabitants of Bhalwal are frustrated due to unavailability of all administrative facilities at their doorstep. This, the government of Punjab should address the concerns and take steps to fulfil thirty-year demand of the people of Bhalwal regarding the conversion the status of the city from tehsil to district.
