Caretaker Minister for Wildlife, Environment and Planning Bilal Afzal paid a surprise visit to Lahore Safari Zoo where he toured different parts of the safari zoo in his vehicle, especially the enclosures and cages of lions, tigers and leopards. Bilal Afzal also visited the enclosures of birds and other animals.

Caretaker Minister for Wildlife, Environment and Planning Bilal Afzal paid a surprise visit to Lahore Safari Zoo where he toured different parts of the safari zoo in his vehicle, especially the enclosures and cages of lions, tigers and leopards. Bilal Afzal also visited the enclosures of birds and other animals. On this occasion, while giving instructions, he said that attention should be given to increasing the population of animals and birds because at present there are very few animals in the safari zoo. He said that water for birds and animals should be kept clean regularly and changed on time. He urged the administration that animals are more affected by severe weather, so their health should be taken care of during this season of heat and humidity. He said that cleanliness should be ensured inside the cages and fool-proof arrangements should be made for the protection of visitors. Bilal Afzal further said that the number of food points should be increased in the Safari Zoo whereon standard food should be provided at a controlled rates. He expressed his determination that all possible measures would be taken to make the Safari Zoo the best tourist destination for the people. Later, Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director Wild Life Malik Ghulam Rasool Awan gave a briefing on different parts of the Safari Zoo and also explained the problems faced therein.
