QUETTA: The debate on budget of Balochistan for the next financial year 2023-24 remained continued in the session of provincial assembly on Saturday as it met with the deputy Speaker, Sardar Babar Musakhail in the chair.
It may be mentioned here that the yesterday’s budget session was adjourned due to the quorum issue.
While resuming debate on the budget, the Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Mir Asadullah Baloch said that the budget of Rs. 750 volume is not enough, and it is very less as per the requirements of the modern world.
He said that it is not possible for him to praise the budget.
Asadullah Baloch criticized the federal government for not doing “anything” for the compensation of orchards and crops damaged during the floods last year all over the province.
He said that the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced Rs. 10 billion. But nothing has been given to the province out of Rs. 10 billion, he alleged adding that it is nothing but an insult of the people of province.
Participating in debate, the Parliamentary Secretary for Minorities Affairs, Khalil George said that he congratulates the provincial government and Finance Minister for presenting balanced budget. He on the occasion also termed the province’s budget as public friendly.
He said that the provincial ministers and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) deserve appreciation on presenting public friendly budget.
The Opposition MPA Mir Zabid Reki welcomed the inclusion of Nag-Washuk road in PSDP of the next financial year.
He said that funds have been allocated for the phase-II of Nag-Washuk road. He also criticized the federal government for doing nothing for the flood affected people.
He said that the promises made by the Prime Minister for rehabilitation of the flood affected areas couldn’t be materialized yet.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary leader of BNP, Malik Naseer Shahwani pointed out towards the ongoing armed clash between two groups in Wadh area of Khuzdar.
He asked the government to take steps to reduce the tension in Wadh. He feared that any thing can happen anytime there.
He regretfully pointed out that the Minister Home visited Wadh, but no details were shared of his visit.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker gave ruling to hand over the Sariab road extension project to the C&W department.
He also ruled that the Chief Secretary may give briefing to the assembly members on the project.
