4th phase of LG polls completes
with voting on reserved seats
of district councils

QUETTA: The fourth phase of local government (LG) elections was completed with the voting process conducted for election on the reserved seats of 31 district councils in Balochistan on Thursday.
The elections on reserved seats of 31 district councils were held in 31 districts of the province as the candidates in other four districts had already been elected unopposed.
The process of polling started at 08:00 AM, which remain continued till 05:00 PM without any break.
In all 1001 candidates were in the competition run for 430 seats reserved for women, peasant, workers and non-Muslims in 31 districts of the province.
The polling process remained peaceful throughout the day as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the province.
With this, fourth phase of the local government elections has been completed, stated the Provincial Election Commissioner, Sharifullah in a statement issued here.
According to him, the polling process was completed peacefully and no untoward incident was reported during the voting.
He thanked the provincial government, district returning officers, returning officers, election commission staff, law enforcement agencies and media on cooperation in the voting process.
