UN Residential Coordinator visits District Headquarter Hospital Gandawah

QUETTA: The Residential Coordinator of United Nations, Julius Harness visited the District Headquarter Hospital Gandawah on Friday.
On the occasion, a meeting was held under the chair of Deputy Commissioner Jhal Magsi, Muhammad Ramzan Palal, and attended by UNOCHA’s Dr. Zaheer Ahmed, Ms. Rehana Khilji, WFP’s Shaihak Riaz as well as the representatives of UNICEF, WHO and other concerned officials.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion briefed about the devastated flood and rains last year as well as the process of relief and rehabilitation launched afterwards by the provincial government in collaboration with the welfare organisations besides other related matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Palal informed that the infrastructure of Jhal Magsi had been destroyed due to the devastations caused by the flood and heavy rains.
He regretfully pointed out that the communication system couldn’t be restored yet.
The schools, health centres and other buildings have been severely damaged in the flash floods there, he added.
