The first-ever Quetta Premier League (QPL) is scheduled to be launched from July 15, 2023 in the provincial metropolis.

 

QUETTA: The first-ever Quetta Premier League (QPL) is scheduled to be launched from July 15, 2023 in the provincial metropolis.
While the first stage of the QPL would begin from mid of July, the next phase featuring national and international cricketers would be decided at end of first phase of the league.
In all eight teams involving 160 players i.e., 20 each from all teams would feature in the QPL.
This and similar other details were shared by the Chief organizer of QPL, Javed Akhtar along with Director General Sports Department, Durra Baloch while addressing a press conference at the Bugti Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
The member organizing committee of QPL, Muhammad Khair and PCB’s Manager Bugti Stadium, Mansoor Khan were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Organizer QPL said that the registration of the teams have been started for the League being organized for the first time in Quetta.
He informed that eight teams would be focused in the QPL, however, the selection of the players and teams would be made from all districts of the province.
He said that the League would provide an excellent opportunity to the province’s players to show their talent besides building their mental capacity and bettering their financial position.
He said that the process of registration of the teams for the League is continued for last 25 days, and the final selection of the teams and players would be made in due course of time.
The DG Sports Durra Baloch on the occasion said that the provincial government and sports department would extend cooperation to hold the QPL. He said that All Pakistan Chief Minister Gold Cup tournament would also be organized in Quetta. Referring the Pakistan Super League (PSL) exhibitory match, the DG sports said that it had been very successful.
The organizer of QPL, Muhammad Khan said that the registration of the teams is in progress in 15 districts of the province.
He said that the local players of Quetta and other parts of the province would have opportunity to play with the national and international level cricketers in the League.
He on the occasion demanded of the provincial government to allocate funds for the Chief Minister Cup cricket as well as for meeting the requirements of the Bugti cricket stadium and other sports activities in the next budget.
