Independent Report.
Peshawar, November 27, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Provincial President of the Awami National Party (ANP), addressed the District Council meeting in Nowshera, expressing concerns over the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Hussain emphasized that establishing peace in the province is not a priority for either the provincial or federal governments. He lamented that for the past 40 years, Pashtuns have been suffering, and terrorism is not being taken seriously. The provincial government’s priority is to secure the release of Imran Khan at any cost, while the federal government is determined to keep him behind bars.
Hussain criticized the Chief Minister for fighting for Imran Khan’s release but failing to negotiate with the federal government for the province’s rights. He warned that the ongoing tussle between the province and the center will only harm the province and its people.
The ANP leader also highlighted the ongoing bloodshed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the Kurram district, and accused both the provincial and federal governments of being indifferent to the situation. He alleged that the violence in Kurram is part of a larger conspiracy to empty the region of its inhabitants and gain control over its resources.
Hussain concluded that terrorism persists in various forms across all districts of the province, and the ANP has always prioritized the well-being of the Pashtun people.
