Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja, has declared that the district administration is on high alert for the upcoming polio eradication campaign, scheduled from December 16 to 22, 2024. He emphasized the importance of interdepartmental cooperation to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness.
Presiding over a meeting with district officials, union council chairpersons, councilors, secretaries, and representatives from the health, revenue, education, public health engineering departments, and other stakeholders, Dr. Khawaja stressed the need for coordinated efforts to achieve maximum coverage.
He warned that any negligence or inefficiency by officials during the campaign, particularly from the health department, would result in severe disciplinary action, including termination and legal proceedings.
The Deputy Commissioner directed police officers to strictly monitor transit points, ensuring that every child in transit is checked. If any child is found unvaccinated, polio teams stationed at these points will administer the necessary drops immediately.
Additionally, Dr. Khawaja instructed health officials to implement robust monitoring measures to guarantee the campaign’s success and safeguard the children of Sanghar from the threat of polio.
