Balochistan CM Meets HEC Chairman to Discuss University Reforms

Quetta, Nov. 25, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Safaraz Bugti met with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed to discuss ways to improve governance and quality in the province’s universities.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms to address the challenges faced by Balochistan’s universities. He stressed that the provincial government would provide resources to the universities, but also expected them to be accountable.

The meeting was also attended by provincial ministers Rahila Hamid Khan Durrani, Mir Sadique Umrani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, and MPA Asghar Tareen.

The Chief Minister directed the universities to avoid unnecessary recruitments and construction projects, given the current financial situation. He also assured that there would be no political interference in the universities and that the government would not compromise on quality and governance.

The HEC Chairman assured the Chief Minister that the commission would provide its recommendations for improving the Balochistan Universities Act.
