In a significant blow to drug smugglers, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nine operations across the country, arresting 11 individuals and confiscating over 210.474 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately Rs. 14 crore
According to press release
– _Sialkot University Raid_: ANF recovered 800 grams of charas and 200 grams of ice from a suspect near a university, who confessed to selling drugs to students.¹
– _Lahore Airport Bust_: 2.574 kilograms of ice were seized from a passenger’s luggage bound for Bahrain.
– _Chaman Operation_: 52 kilograms of heroin and 9 kilograms of ice were recovered from a vacant house.
– _Sheikhupura Raid_: 19.2 kilograms of afim (opium) and 31.2 kilograms of charas were seized from two vehicles, with five suspects arrested [1).
The ANF’s crackdown on drug smuggling is part of ongoing efforts to curb the narcotics trade in Pakistan. The seized narcotics 6th have an estimated value of over Rs. 14 crore, dealing a substantial blow to drug cartels.
