Wildlife Department Cracks Down on Illegal Huntingf in Balochistan

Independent Report. Ormara. Nov. 17
The Balochistan Wildlife Department conducted a major operation in the Teloband fields of Ormara, demolishing pits used for illegal hunting of the Peregrine Falcon.¹

Led by Deputy Ranger Wildlife, Sanaullah Baloch, the team inspected the area and dismantled several pits constructed by hunters to capture the rare bird species.

According to officials, hunters would reside in these pits for months, setting nets to catch the Peregrine Falcon, posing a significant threat to the species and disrupting ecological balance.

The operation, directed by Assistant Conservator Zahiduddin and Sub-Divisional Officer Ismat Ali Dagarzai, aimed to protect endangered species and preserve the region’s biodiversity.

The Wildlife Department’s game watchers, Shah Nawaz and Khaliq Dad, assisted in monitoring the area and identifying the illegal pits.

This crackdown on illegal hunting demonstrates the department’s commitment to safeguarding Balochistan’s wildlife and natural resources.
