A successful joint operation conducted by Sindh Rangers and police in Shikarpur’s Gharhi Tegho Kachho area has resulted in the killing of one notorious dacoit and the arrest of another in an injured state.¹
According to Shikarpur SSP Shahzeb Chachar, the encounter took place near Napar Kot police station, where dacoits attacked a police picket, leading to an exchange of fire. Police firing resulted in the death of Farido Teghani, the leader of the Teghani gang, while his accomplice, Mallan Mazari Teghani, was arrested in an injured state.
The deceased dacoit was allegedly involved in highway robbery, kidnapping for ransom, and other crimes, including the martyrdom of police personnel, Manwar Jatoi. This operation is part of a larger crackdown on dacoits in the area, which has been ongoing for the past 25 days, resulting in the deaths of 12 dacoits and injuries to 45 others.
