Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider and Chairperson Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashood visits Lok Mela. The dignitaries lauded the rich array of cultural displays at the Mela.

Furthermore, the evening air was filled with the vibrant sounds of Sindh’s rich musical heritage as the province’s cultural night captivated audiences with its mesmerizing performances.

Talented performers such as Sanam Marvi, Ajmal Bheel, Sain Dad Matkarkas, Sattar Jogi/Bein Nawaz mesmerized the crowd with their captivating performances. Their soulful melodies and energetic dance moves transported the audience to the heart of Sindh.

The cultural night was not just about music; it was a celebration of Sindh’s rich artistic heritage. Visitors had the opportunity to witness the intricate artistry of skilled artisans, who showcased their expertise in various crafts, including lacquer art, Persian weaving, pottery, and embroidery.

As visitors explore the festival grounds, they can admire the beautifully decorated pavilion showcasing the rich culture and traditional architecture of Sindh province, the land of Sufi saints. The Sindh Pavilion displays a wide range of Sindhi folk crafts, including lacquer art, Persian weaving, pottery, Sindhi embroidery, ajrak, block printing, traditional carpet weaving, tie-dye, khis weaving, woodwork, and embroidery.

Among the talented artisans showcased at the pavilion are Mumtaz Khan Chand sandhi Joti, Gul Khatun, Badshahzadi, Rili Sazi, Anila Chana, Ghulam Muhammad Khais, and Lungi weaving. Palm leaf work is represented by Rabia, Pottery by Faqir Muhammad, Sabrin Solangi from Mahinjodaro, Shahzad Khan, Fida Hussain, and Ghulam Nabi from Ajrak.

One such talented artisan is Chand Khan, a 17-year-old specialist in making Sindhi shoes. With 44 years of experience, Chand Khan creates exquisitely embroidered shoes renowned throughout Sindh. In addition to the fair, they participate in local and federal-level exhibitions.

Lok Mela 2024 continues to be a cultural fiesta, offering a unique platform to experience the diverse traditions of Pakistan. The event will conclude on November 17th, 10 PM.
