Karachi: Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqui, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, paid a visit to the DEPD-PDSA Rehabilitation Center in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Karachi. During his visit, he observed the comprehensive range of life therapy services offered at the center, including physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and psychotherapy. The parents of children receiving services at the center expressed their gratitude for the free rehabilitation support provided by the Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) in collaboration with the DEPD, Government of Sindh. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqui lauded PDSA Pakistan for its dedication and efforts as an active service provider and a reliable partner organization of the DEPD. He reaffirmed the Sindh Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the lives of children with disabilities. Mr. Abid Lashari, CEO of PDSA Pakistan, highlighted the critical role of the Sindh Government’s inclusive vision, which integrates disability within the development agenda. “PDSA is striving to ensure free rehabilitation services at the Gulshan-e-Hadeed center,” said Mr. Lashari. “While disabilities cannot be cured, they can be effectively managed through consistent rehabilitation efforts.” The visit underscores the Sindh Government’s ongoing commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and fostering partnerships with organizations like PDSA to ensure accessible and quality services for all.
