Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) District Election Commissioner Muhammad Sarwar highlighted that every citizen of Pakistan has a constitutional right to vote, and those who do not exercise this right deprive themselves of a key civic privilege. He made these remarks while presiding over a voter committee meeting in his office.
Sarwar stated that the government is ensuring complete facilitation for all voters. Previously, only government employees were allowed to vote via postal ballot, but now this right has been extended to include disabled individuals and prisoners as well.
The Election Commissioner urged that voters must understand the significance of their vote, as it empowers them to choose competent representatives and shape a better future. He further explained that the Election Commission prepares new voter lists before each election, urging political parties to obtain updated lists to better serve their constituents.
To enhance voter accessibility, the Election Commission is working with NADRA to streamline the issuance of ID cards.
Prominent figures, including Hindu Council leader Rajesh Kumar Hardasani, DC Office representative Sabir Hussain Mehr, Deputy Director of Information Zafar Ali Mangi, Election Officer Muhammad Umair, Saima Sattar, and NADRA Assistant Director Raza Ali Mari, attended the meeting.
