Ahmad’s literary journey began during his time at Osmania University in Hyderabad, where he developed a passion for writing. His first collection of poems, “Mah-e-Lqa aur Dusri Nazmein,” was published in 1943 ¹. After partition, Ahmad moved to Pakistan and served as the director of the Film and Publications Department. He later taught at the School of Oriental Studies in London and eventually joined the University of Toronto’s Islamic Studies department [1).
Some of Ahmad’s notable works include novels like “Grez,” “Marmar aur Khoon,” “Hos,” “Aag,” and “Shabnam” ¹. His contributions to Urdu literature earned him a Fellowship from the Royal Society of Canada.
