Commissioner Kalat Division Stresses Good Governance and Water Supply

Independent Report.
Nov. 8,

Commissioner Kalat Division, Muhammad Naeem Bazai, emphasized the importance of good governance and timely service delivery during his visit to the Hub Dam distribution site. Bazai stated that Chief Secretary’s clear instructions are to ensure officials provide services to the public, as the government provides them with salaries and benefits.
He highlighted the Hub Master Plan’s priority on providing water for industrial and urban needs. Developing a stakeholder plan to cater to Hub District’s population and industrial requirements is also crucial.
During the visit, Bazai inspected the water distribution point from Hub Dam to Sindh and Balochistan. Irrigation officials informed him that Hub Dam’s water share for Balochistan is 110 khushek, serving the district’s industrial, agricultural, and urban needs.
Bazai stressed the need for immediate action on canal remodeling and desilting due to siltation and water flow reduction. He instructed Executive Engineer Irrigation, Abdul Jabbar Zehri, to take action against illegal hydrants and ensure water supply to Leida and PHA reservoirs.
The irrigation canal’s desilting and distribution mechanism are underway, with machinery already on site. The 33-kilometer canal’s desilting process will be completed by Sunday night.
Commissioner Bazai directed Zehri to collect data on illegal hydrants and take action against them, with the district administration playing a key role.
