The Balochistan Civil Services Academy (BCSA) has released a comprehensive report on the privatization of solid waste management in Quetta. Conducted under the supervision of Director General Hafiz Jamali and Director Sabana Sultan, the study involved eight senior officers from the Balochistan government who conducted ground surveys, reviewed existing contracts, analyzed finances, and observed operational performance.
90% Satisfaction Rate_: 90% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the private management system.
– _Improved Civic Services_: Quetta Commissioner and Balochistan Public Private Partnership Authority (BPPPA) CEO Dr. Faisal’s efforts played a crucial role in enhancing civic services.
– _Elimination of Ghost Employees_: The project removed ghost employees, fake bills, and irregular vehicle maintenance, issues that affected Quetta’s waste management system over the past decade.
The research team advised the Balochistan government to initiate public awareness programs to strengthen the initiative, promoting positive change in citizen behavior and increased responsibility in solid waste management. The report will be presented to the Chief Minister of Balochistan next week, marking a significant milestone towards making Quetta a clean and efficiently managed city.
