Children of Balochistan be taught research-based curriculum enabling to compete with students of Islamabad & Lahore, says CM

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized that children of the province should be taught the curriculum based on the research so as to enable them to compete with the students of Islamabad and Lahore.
The Chief Minister said we have to come out of the Alif-Anaar and Be-Bakri as he referred to the syllabus taught to the children of nursery students in schools to make them familiar with the Urdu alphabets.
He said that we would encourage good officers and would provide protection to them in their tenure atleast during the era of present government.
He exhorted the officers to maintain continuity in the positive reforms and not come in any blackmailing.
The Chief Minister was chairing review meeting regarding performance of the Balochistan Text Book Board here at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by the Provincial Minister for Education, Ms Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Imran Zarkoon, Secretary Education, Muhammad Saleh Nasar, Additional Secretary, Chief Minister Secretariat, Muhammad Fareedon, Chairman Text Book Board, Gulab Khan Khilji, besides other concerned high ups.
The meeting was informed that the academic curriculum in Balochistan is being made compatible with the national curriculum.
The scanning bar code is also being printed on every page of the newly printed book so that teachers may approach the online portal for any kind of guidance, it was further briefed adding that government academic books would be printed by the end of current year.
It was mentioned that this year the contract of printing of books has been given to the credible firms through call attention notices.
The concerned official informed that not only Rs.750 millions would be saved directly through the bid of contract, but the aggregate saving of Rs. 1 billion would be made when it comes to the comparison with the annual inflation and other expenditures.
Besides, it was also told that the Research and Development Wing had been established in the Balochistan Text Book Board, which would continuously keep vigil on the research matters.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the performance of Text Book Board and praised it’s Chairman, Gulab Khan Khilji.
He directed to the high ups of Education Department to ensure timely supply of books in the schools.
In this regard, the Chief Minister directed to Directorate of Schools and Text Book Board to submit their recommendations in the Principal Secretary office within 10 days after preparing viable mechanism of timely supply of the books at the union council level in all districts.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti on the occasion noted with pleasure that the Punjab Text Book Board has appreciated and reiterated to adopt initiatives of Balochistan Text Book Board.
He said that it is good to see that educational reforms of the incumbent provincial government are being appreciated and adopted in other provinces.
He said that it is new history and we are determined to bring improvement in the education sector and overall governance system during era of our government.
In the end, the Chief Minister awarded the commendation certificate to the Chairman Text Book Board, Gulab Khan Khilji on his high performance.
