Over 2.65 million kids to be vaccinated: Anti-polio campaign to be kicked off in Balochistan today

QUETTA: The anti-polio campaign is scheduled to be started in Balochistan from today (Monday).
According to the sources of Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for polio Eradication, all the necessary arrangements have been finalized for the polio immunisation campaign being launched all over the province.
During the campaign, 2.65 million children below five years of age would be administered the anti-polio vaccine for more than 11,000 teams have been formed.
The EOC sources said that it is being ensured that the Mobile polio teams visit each and every home to get every child administered the anti-polio vaccine in the province.
In this regard, all segments of the society particularly parents have been urged to extend wholehearted cooperation to ensure 100 percent immunization against polio virus.
A meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan a couple of days back also stressed on immunization of each and every child against the crippling disease.
The Chief Secretary urged all to play their effective role for achieving the target of immunization in province.
It was also directed to all concerned to work with utmost dedication in this regard.
