The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, announced that the construction contract for the Rathua Hariam Bridge project has been awarded to Pakistan’s national institution, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) ¹. The project, valued at 17 billion rupees, is expected to be completed at a cost of 10 billion rupees.
Speaking at the ceremony where the construction award letter was handed over to FWO, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government is taking practical steps rather than making false announcements ¹. He highlighted the government’s 18-month performance as satisfactory, ensuring that national projects are not hindered by regional biases or narrow-mindedness.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Housing and Physical Planning Minister Chaudhry Yasar Sultan, Director General Mangla Dam Housing Authority Chaudhry Muhammad Mansha Naqshbandi, and Project Director Rathua Hariam Bridge Habib Mughal.
The government is also working to address the issues of Mangla Dam affectees, particularly the resettlement of sub-families ². This development is part of the government’s efforts to provide relief and support to affected communities.
