Balochistan Assembly’s session resumes: We can’t talk about illegal practice of smuggling in provincial legislative assembly, says Chief Minister

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has categorically stated that we can’t talk about the illegal activity of smuggling in the legislative assembly of the province.
He said that there are extraordinary circumstances in the province while separatist movement is going on.
He said that the smuggling of fuel has been causing loss of billions of rupees.
He said that those benefitting from the smuggling of fuel are others and he would reveal their names soon.
However, we are trying to find the way out of the issue.
The Chief Minister was speaking in the session of provincial assembly here on Wednesday.
The session was chaired by Speaker Provincial Assembly, Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.
As the member of provincial assembly belonging to Balochistan Awami Party, Agha Umar Ahmedza and others belonging to the opposition staged walk out of the house on the issue of raid at the residence of Sardar Saleh Bhotani, the Chief Minister maintained that the raid was not done at his (Bhotani) residence in the jurisdiction of Balochistan. He said that the provincial government can’t do anything if the raid was outside the province.
Earlier, the leader of opposition Mir Younas Zehri criticized the government about the law and order situation in the province.
He said that law and order situation is not under control of the government.
He said that even the provincial ministers are upset about their security.
The Minister Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Buledi said that the external and international forces have become active in the province.
He said that we should expose the enemies instead of levelling allegations on our security institutions.
He said that the international forces are using banned organizations in the province. He said that we have to condemn the incidents of terrorism together.
Earlier, the MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch said that the doors of livelihood are being closed on the people by closing borders.
He said that our youths are not being allowed to do business of fuel and their vehicles are not being allowed to come on the roads.
He said that we should make our decisions in the province at our own.
Some members of the assembly including opposition leader also criticized the government for law and order situation in the province.
Later, the session of assembly was adjourned till October 18, 2024.
