Islamabad – The government of Pakistan has set up a committee to investigate the issue of PTI’s rally in Islamabad.The Ministry of Interior Government of Pakistan has set up an Inquiry Committee to investigate the use of government resources and manpower by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf rally in Islamabad on 4 & 5 October.The committee will be headed by Police Officer Rafiq Mukhtar, while other members will include Police Officer Munir Masood Marth and one representative who will hold the rank of BPS-20 or above of IB. Number of important points will be before the committee, including:
Number and types of official vehicles used in the rally.
The number of government employees and public officials who participated in the rally.
The orders under which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government departments were directed to utilize public resources.
Competent authorities who were empowered to issue orders under the Government Resource Movement Act.
Designation of persons responsible for rally planning and strategy.
The committee has been directed to submit the report of its inquiry within seven days.
The announcement comes amid heightened public anxiety and political tension during PTI rally, further complicating the country’s political situation. This action on the part of the government indicates that it intends to take a tough stance on misuse of public resources.
The issue has been a hot debate in political circles and is gaining public attention.
