Provision of education, health & other basic facilities to scattered population in vast area of Balochistan big challenge: CM

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the scattered population on the vast area is a big challenge. He said that the fruits of available resources don’t reach the common Balochistani due to the bad governance.
He regretfully pointed out that billions of rupees are allocated for the health and education sectors every year, but results are disappointing. We are committed to make the departments functional by bringing reforms in the departments.
The Chief Minister was addressing through video link the ceremony on national dialogue on Pakistan prama crises arranged by the Oxford alumni community here s at the Governor House on Saturday.
The Chief Minister answered the queries of participants and spoke at length on different topics including governance, law and order and climate change.
He said that Balochistan is facing the challenges of climate change, law and order and governance. He said that huge losses are caused to the province due to the extraordinary rains and floods in the province every year.
He said that we are working on the feasibility of reorganisation of the canals system in Naseerabad Division.
Besides, we are building exemplary institutions for medical service delivery so as to provide quality health care facilities to the people.
The Chief Minister on the occasion said that gulf was created between state and youth through baseless and misleading propaganda. However we want to educate youth and opportunities to progress saving them from the path of destruction, he added.
He pointed out that for the first time, Benazir Bhutto Scholarship programme was started in the province.
Under the programme, opportunities of quality education are being provided to every poor and rich Balochistani to acquire education from Matric to Ph. D in the country’s and international institutions.
He stressed that there is a need to view the general perception prevailing about Balochistan from both aspects.
He on the occasion reiterated his government’s resolve to resolve the issues by improving governance in the province.
