QUETTA: The Federal Minister for State and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Engineer Amir Muqam has categorically stated that Balochistan is the heart of Pakistan and as such special attention is being given to the province during the present era of our government.
He said that more funds have been allocated for Balochistan in the current federal PSDP than other provinces even Punjab.
He mentioned that Rs. 120 billion have been allocated for Balochistan in the current PSDP by the federal government, which are higher that other provinces.
He said that the federal government is implementing the project of solarization of some 28,000 agricultural tube wells in Balochistan in collaboration with the provincial government. He believed that there would be revolution in the agriculture sector with solarization of the agricultural tube wells in Balochistan.
He said that constitutional amendments are being made in favour of the people of the country, and this is not a new thing. He said that the reforms and constitutional amendments are being made for well being of the people. He said that people want to use the institutions for the political gains.
He believed that the IMF’s agreement would bring economic stability in the country. He said that the country would suffer instability if the institutions are weakened.
These and similar other views were expressed by the Minister for SAFRON while speaking to the media persons during his visit to the Commissionerate of Afghan Refugees here on Thursday.
The Secretary of SAFRON, Commissioner Afghan Refugees and other concerned high ups were also present on the occasion. The Federal Minister for SAFRON was briefed about the overall functioning of the Ministry and situation of Afghan refugees and other related matters.
Speaking to the media, Amir Muqam said that unfortunately lawlessness has returned in Balochistan and Khyber Pahhtunkhaw. The people of two provinces have suffered due to the law and order situation and terrorism.
However, Amir Muqam added that the people of Balochistan have faced terrorism bravely.
He also said that the security forces have rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that the victory would be of peace in the end.
He said that everyone knows the agenda of terrorism and from where it’s funding is being done.
He categorically stated that the terrorists are neigher Baloch nor Pakhtun nor Muslims. He said that we would have to fight terrorism together.
He on the occasion appreciated the female Adeela Baloch, who given up the suicide bombing. Referring the agreement made with IMF, the Federal Minister SAFRON noted with contentment over the agreement that was done successfully under leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that some people used to say that the agreement would not be done with IMF, and even the letters were written to IMF in the past.
Referring the then PDM government, Amir Muqam said that he was also part of the federal cabinet during PDM set up, and then Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had compromised his politics over the state.
He said that the government went to IMF for agreement in compulsion and that because of Qaidi No. 804.
He said that condition of economy is improving and so the state of common men. He also believed that inflation would reduce further in time to come.
Referring the repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan, the Federal Minister SAFRON said that Pakistan has been hosting large number of Afghan refugees for 45 years and around 3.0 million refugees are still living in the country including Balochistan.
He said that the process of repatriation of refugees is continued, and so far some 0.5 million have been repatriated to their homeland, he added.
Referring the disregard to Pakistani national anthem by some Afghan consulate representatives in Peshawar and desecration of the national flag by some Afghan nationals in Frankfurt (Germany) is not in the interest of Afghanistan, and those who are doing the same are not well wishers of their country (Afghanistan).
He said that we want that Afghan refugees may return to their homeland now.
About the Chief Minister KP and his government, the Federal Minister SAFRON said that it is agenda of KP government to weaken federation.
He pledged that we would maintain the dignity of Pakistan and its national flag.
