Concrete steps to be taken to ensure proper sharing of Balochistan Red Crescent Society, says Governor

QUETTA: The Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that concrete steps would be taken to ensure proper sharing of Balochistan Red Crescent Society (BRCS) in the province.
However, he stressed that it is necessary to take the Red Crescent into confidence regarding disaster management and relief activities about the province at the national level.
He said that it is responsibility of the Red Crescent to highlight the collective sense of relief activities and volunteer services in the natural disasters, viral diseases and other emergent circumstances.
The Governor was presiding over the annual meeting of Balachistan Red Crescent Society at the Governor’s House on Wednesday.
Also present on the occasion were the Principal Secretary to Governor, Muhammad Hashim Khan Ghilzai, Chairman of Red Crescent Society, Abdul Wali Khan Ghaibzai, besides other concerned members.
He asserted that he may visit the Society anytime so the comprehensive strategy should be prepared to improve its performance, ensure attendance of the staff, speed up the local activities and activate the volunteers and impart first medical aid training at union council level.
He said that Balochistan has faced big challenges during last three decades. As a result of the drought, earthquake, floods and devastating rains, heavy losses were caused to the human lives and property, he mentioned.
The Governor exhorted the concerned members to give suggestions to improve performance of the institution further besides expanding human activities.
