Shakeel chairs Divisional & Deputy Commissioners on certain issues: CS exhorts all officers to speed up measures for improving service delivery in respective institutions

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has exhorted all officers to speed up measures for bringing improvement in the service delivery in their respective departments so that people may get all basic facilities at their doorstep.
The Chief Secretary was presiding over the Divisional and Deputy Commissioners here on Friday.
The meeting discussed about the overdue cases on IPMS, prevention of smuggling, provision of quality education and healthcare facilities, price control, recruitment of the teachers and solarization of agricultural tube wells in the province.
Those who were also present in the meeting were included: Additional Chief Secretary Home, Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Forests and Wildlife, Dostain Khan Jamaldini, Secretary Social Welfare, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Secretary Industries, Durra Baloch, Secretary Transport, Muhammad Hayat Kakar. The Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the provincial cabinet has approved recruitments of the teachers on contract in the Education Department. He directed to all Deputy Commissioners to make all closed schools non-functional on the contract basis within four months and ensure imparting quality education to the students.
He said that it is responsibility of the government to provide best healthcare facilities in the hospitals and to ensure provision of the medicines at the earliest by completing process of procurement of the medicines.
Besides, the Chief Secretary directed to Deputy Commissioners keep strict vigil on prices of the edibles in their respective districts so that no one may violate the official price list.
He also directed to ensure attendance of the teachers and doctors in the hospitals.
He warned that absence of the teachers and doctors wouldn’t be tolerated in the schools and hospitals.
He said that legal action would be taken against the absentee teachers and doctors.
All the Divisional Commissioners briefed the meeting about their respective divisions.
It was told in the meeting that the administration of all the divisions have conducted visits of the hospitals, schools, BHUs, RHCs and bazzars in their respective different areas.
It was informed that in all 811 non-functional schools have been made functional in the province.
Show cause notices have been issued to the absentee teachers.
In all 36 Levies personnel have been dismissed from the service.
Similarly, 181 acres of land have been vacated from the illegal occupants.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary directed to all Deputy Commissioners to conduct meetings of District Education Group and District Health Committees on regular basis.
