SINDH GOVERNMENT BANS SALE OF ITEMS USED IN DRUG MANUFACTURING AND CONSUMPTION

Independent Report.
Karachi, Sindh – September 10, 2024

On the directives of Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Commissioner of Karachi has issued orders to impose a ban on the sale of items used in drug manufacturing and consumption. The ban, imposed under Section 144, includes the sale of wooden, acrylic, glass, stone, plastic, and ceramic pipes, roach clips, chilms, bongs, marijuana pipes, and other related items.

Station House Officers (SHOs) of relevant police stations are authorized to register cases against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, this ban is an important step in the ongoing war against drug use in Sindh. “Our aim is to discourage the availability of instruments used in drug consumption,” he said. “We will continue to take strict measures to protect the public, especially the younger generation, from the curse of drugs.”
