Our policy makers & engineers can play key role in tackling challenges of natural disasters, says Governor

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that we have to adopt preventive and safety measures for saving huge amount of budget on the reconstruction.
He stressed that we should pay attention on building flexible infrastructure instead of reconstructions, which may face the natural disasters.
In this regard, our policy makers and engineers can play key role.
The Governor said that we also had skills and resources besides having services of talented engineers. Therefore, such memorable towers and excellent buildings should be built in the provincial metropolis so that we may attract tourists from all over the world. However, we need vision and strong intention to perform this task.
The Governor was speaking to the Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Saleem Ahmed Khosa, who called on him here on Monday.
Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that it is an unfortunate that our province mostly remains in the grip of natural disasters such as earthquake, floods, drought, etc.
As a result of which, these calamities cause loss of human lives on one hand, while these also causes damages to the basic infrastructure.
He said that huge amount of the federal and provincial budgets is spent on the roads, bridges and other buildings, he added stressing it is necessary to strengthen the infrastructure to save the same from the severity of weather and natural disasters.
