Audit Report Exposes Massive Corruption Scandal in NADRA: Irregular Appointments and Excessive Salary Payments

The recent audit report of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has revealed severe irregularities and corruption in the organization’s recruitment processes and salary distribution. The report highlights the case of Brigadier (R) Abdul Rahman, who was appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) despite lacking the necessary qualifications and experience for the role.

According to the findings, Brigadier (R) Abdul Rahman was paid a monthly salary of Rs 2.2 million as CHRO, which was deemed excessive and unjustified by the Auditor General of Pakistan. This amounts to an annual salary of Rs 26.4 million, with an additional payment of Rs 5.76 million, bringing the total financial benefit to Rs 32.16 million.

The audit report emphasizes that Brigadier (R) Abdul Rahman’s appointment was irregular and highlights the misuse of influence and bias. The report also notes that the appointment was made without following proper procedures and without considering qualified candidates.
