Balochistan traders observe shutter down strike, lodge protest against taxes, hefty electricity bills

QUETTA: The traders of Balochistan observed shutter down strike against the enforcement of new taxes and hefty utility bills of the electricity across the province including Quetta, on Wednesday.
All the business concerns, trading centers and shops remain closed on call given by the traders organizations including Markazi Tanzim Tajran Pakistan and Markazi Anjuman Tajran Pakistan and Balochistan in the metropolis and different other parts of the province.
The flow of traffic also remained less than the routine in Quetta city.
Meanwhile, the protest demonstration was held under the auspices of Markazi Anjuman Tajran outside the Quetta Press Club the same morning.
The leaders of traders including Abdul Rahim Kakar, Yasin Mengal and others led the protest demonstration which was participated by large number of local traders from various parts of the city.
They chanted anti-government and anti-FBR slogans against the enforcement of taxes on the traders community.
They also lamented the FBR’s Traders friendly scheme and described it as the anti-traders scheme.
They said that the scheme introduced by the FBR is not acceptable to the traders, as it would cast negative impacts on the trade and business.
The traders leaders asserted that the protest would be intensified if the demands were not met.
