GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO RESOLVING FINANCIAL ISSUES OF UNIVERSITIES: MIR SHOAIB NOUSHIRWANI

Quetta, August 26, 2024 – A meeting was held under the chairpersonship of Provincial Minister for Education Rahila Hamid Khan Durani to discuss financial issues of universities. The meeting was attended by Secretary Finance Babar Khan, Secretary Higher Education Hafiz Muhammad Tahir, and Vice Chancellors of all universities in the province.

Provincial Minister for Finance Mir Shoaib Noshirwani addressed the participants, saying that the government is utilizing all available resources to promote education in the province, enabling the youth to acquire modern scientific knowledge and technical education to brighten the name of Balochistan and the country.

He stated that the government is striving to resolve the financial issues of university teachers despite limited resources. Previously, funds were allocated for teachers’ salaries, and currently, 2.5 billion rupees are being provided to ensure timely payment of salaries. He emphasized the need for a policy to permanently resolve financial issues of universities in the province.

The participants unanimously agreed to form a committee to address the financial issues of universities.
