Jamrud, August 25, – The blockade of the highway in Jamrud by protesters from the Kokikhel tribe has resulted in daily losses of millions of rupees for traders. The protesters are demanding the resolution of their grievances, including the relocation of the protest site.
The traders and exporters-importers are facing difficulties due to the blockade, which is also affecting trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Custom Clearing Agents Association and Transport Union have urged the government to address the protesters’ demands and open the highway for traffic.
In a press conference, the president of the All Custom Clearing Agents Association, Emal Shinwari, and the president of the Transport Union, Azimullah Shinwari, demanded that the government take immediate action to resolve the issue. They warned that if the blockade continues, it will have severe consequences for the economy and trade in the region.
The protesters have been blocking the highway for several days, causing disruptions to trade and travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The government has been urged to take swift action to resolve the issue and open the highway for traffic.
