Larkana, August 18: Flooding in the Indus River near Moin Jo Daro in Larkana district has forced residents of over 10 villages to migrate to safer areas. The villages affected include Adam Kalhoro, Aman Mamnani, More Mamnani, Ali Sher, and others.
The flooding has been caused by water flowing from nearby villages at Peer Noor Shah, and there are fears that crops worth millions of rupees will be lost due to the inundation. The root cause of the problem is the weakening of the copper embankment behind the Indus River near Moin Jo Daro, which has compromised the structural integrity of the riverbank.
As the situation continues to deteriorate, villagers are being forced to abandon their homes and livelihoods in search of safety. The authorities have been alerted, and relief efforts are underway to mitigate the impact of the flooding.
